Template parameter	To the best of my knowledge, it is not yet used but will be on the French Wikipedia as a discussion is currently being done.
Domain	country elements such as France (Q142)
Allowed values	number between 0 and 1 (same as for the HDI)
Allowed units	dimensionless number
Example 1	France (Q142) - value of 0.903 in 2021
Example 2	Switzerland (Q39) - value of 0.962 in 2021

Motivation[edit]

The United Nations have defined an Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI), which takes into account inequalities within countries in the calculation of the Human Development Index (HDI). The aim of this new property is to be able to mention the IHDI for each country (as it is currently the case for the HDI) and potentially import these data to the Wikipedias.
Similar properties already exist for the HDI (Human Development Index (P1081)) and the Gini coefficient (Gini coefficient (P1125)), and the IHDI is as important as these (or even more) as it considers more parameters. Adding a propriety would enable the centralisation of the values among Wikipedias and the easy update. Thanks! -- Antimuonium (talk) 17:34, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose with the current datatype. Storing a lot of data in country items is expensive as the whole item has to be rewritten every time a new value is added. More data also increases page loading time. I would prefer the tabular data type and only have one data point per country instead of one per year. I don't really mind about the datatype, as long as it's coherent with similar properties (like HDI), although I don't know much about the tabular datatype. I agree with you about the increase in loading time though. Antimuonium (talk) 17:09, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think page load time issues should not be counted as arguments for not creating new properties. This is a frontend design problem that the dev team will need to tackle at some point. NMaia (talk) 06:56, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
