  • place of burial (P119): location of grave, resting place, place of ash-scattering, etc. (e.g., town/city or cemetery) for a person or animal. There may be several places: e.g., re-burials, parts of body buried separately.

Motivation[edit]

Coordinates rather than more general description of location of a person's burial. Useful for GLAM-like projects with historic cemeteries, to make navigable maps. Pharos (talk) 03:24, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Here are some counts for uses of P625 as a qualifier: https://w.wiki/5esp . Already there are over 10,000 cases of place of burial (P119) statements with coordinate location (P625) as a qualifier. It's also a commonly used idiom with headquarters location (P159), connects with (P2789), mouth of the watercourse (P403), origin of the watercourse (P885) and more.
Here https://w.wiki/5es$ is a map of those place of burial (P119) statements world-wide with coordinate location (P625) as a qualifier, and here https://w.wiki/5etC are people buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery (Q311) in Paris. Jheald (talk) 09:06, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
