Motivation[edit]

This new Wikidata property to identify taxa (Q42396390) would improve our coverage of botany (Q441).-- This site (generally) gives full descriptions of the taxa. And covers the plants which are indigenous to South Australia as well as those naturalised. MargaretRDonald (talk) 20:49, 17 November 2018 (UTC) This is not strictly an ID? It has two parts: genus & species. So it may not fit into the current schema for IDs. MargaretRDonald (talk) 22:19, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The url http://www.flora.sa.gov.au/cgi-bin/speciesfacts_display.cgi?form=speciesfacts&name=Melaleuca_lanceolata works, so "Melaleuca_lanceolata" would work as an identifier. - Brya (talk) 04:48, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
