Motivation[edit]
Comics and graphic novels are collaborative works in which creatorship and contributorship roles are distinct and precise. The existing Wikidata property illustrator (P110) is a broader term that does not allow the granularity needed when assigning roles in comics and graphic novel description. Although there's an alternative way to state that someone is an inker of a work -- see these examples: [1] and [2], where the property "illustrator" has been used but property "object has role" is used as a qualifier -- a more precise property is needed rather than using a qualifier. Wikidata already has "colorist" and "letterer" as separate properties, so it seems logical to have inker as well. Pfrankdc (talk) 20:40, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

- Support It makes sense to have separate properties for the different functions of illustrators of comics. If colorist (P6338) and letterer (P9191) can have separate properties, I do not see any reason why "inker" and "penciller", the other two most common types of comics illustrators, should also not have their own properties.
