Motivation[edit]
The auxiliary territorial unit "část obce díl" is used by Czech Statistical Office (Český statistický úřad) to treat incompatibilities of two types of territorial division of statutory cities: "evidenční" ("část obce" as a basic unit within which house numbers should be unique) and self-governing ("městská část" or "městský obvod" as a self-governing municipal part). "Část obce díl" is an auxiliary intersection unit – such part of a "část obce" which belongs to the same self-governing "městská část" or "městský obvod".
Items for such auxiliary units are needed for Wikidata to enable unambiguous values for located in the administrative territorial entity (P131). If two values are given for this property, in current practice it is not clear when it is the unification of two territories (the object extends into several neighboring territories) and when it is the intersection of two territories (each value corresponds to a different type of territorial division).
This proposed property should enable to link every item of such an auxiliary territorial unit to its record in the official statistical register. ŠJů (talk) 17:05, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
The values for this new property in the 109 affected items are provisionally filled as values of Czech neighbourhood ID code (P2788); it's links to RÚIAN don't work or link to incorrect item. They should be changed to the new property as soon as possible. --ŠJů (talk) 05:18, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
