Discussion[edit]
Oppose I think using has characteristic (P1552) is sufficient. --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 23:07, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Tinker Bell: A license doesn't just have the property of being able to be copied. The important feature is that that the license allows other things to be copied. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 07:40, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- @ChristianKl: I don't see how this property could handle more complex cases, e.g., when a license allows redistribution, only on certain cases, or with a special condition: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (Q6905942) permits copying, but also requiring attribution, I cannot use simply a "forbids" property on the item, because that condition is required only if I distribute the licensed file. How could express copyleft (redistribution is allowed only under the same license, or a similar one)? --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 02:48, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Tinker Bell: Is your basic claim that the ideas of CreativeCommons of how complex cases should be expressed are wrong? This proposal is about copying their classifications. We do have mandates (P4424) as the equivalent of CC's 'requires' and can use it to express copyleft. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 09:53, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
