Motivation
In Spain you can take pics in most archaeological museums, but in art museums is a different thing. This info could be useful for travelers (Wikivoyage and Commons). Emijrp (talk) 14:11, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

- Support. Logical property.--Arbnos (talk) 17:33, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. This should also cover whether or not a selfie stick (Q18387942) may be used on the said site, for instance. So it would be nice if we could establish a list of allowed items before the vote ends. Thierry Caro (talk) 07:57, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Emijrp: before creating this property, do you want to establish a list of accepted values as suggested by Thierry above? − Pintoch (talk) 00:16, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- I added some examples, but I am not an expert on this. I think we should reach consensus. The most common values are no, yes, no flash (or 'yes without flash'). Emijrp (talk) 19:03, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- GLAM wikimedians could help. Emijrp (talk) 17:59, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- This was marked as ready, however I don't think it has had proper discussion, and only 2 support votes. So, I have changed it back to "under discussion". Not sure who marked it as ready. Danrok (talk) 14:08, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- The label is "photos allowed" which implies a yes/no situation. It was previously decided not have boolean type properties on Wikidata. Also, no consideration has been given to the difference between commercial and non-commercial photography, or the subject matter and the local copyright laws regarding works of art. The situation is more complicated than has been suggested here. Danrok (talk) 14:12, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- It was decided to use item-datatype instead of a boolean datatype, not no boolean values.

- It was decided to use item-datatype instead of a boolean datatype, not no boolean values.
- I edited the label to change it from a Boolean implication to expecting a policy as value. Items can be created for the expected values. Emijrp is this ok? ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:11, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: Sure. Emijrp (talk) 17:50, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Danrok: I've marked as ready again since I think this version satisfies your objection above, agreed? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:03, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: I'm thinking this might be better handled by a generic property, rather than one specifically for photography. E.g. "prohibited activity in this place", can be applied to any place and specify any activity such as photography, flying drones, lighting fires, etc. Danrok (talk) 11:56, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
