Discussion[edit]
- Support I guess though I wonder if a more general "ranking context" would work too? Or maybe we already have such a property? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:15, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- Comment I didn't see the exchange which inspired this proposal. On Wikidata:Property proposal/population rank I have suggested of (P642) might fulfill this role, but I'd not oppose a more specific property, if a convincing argument is made for it. Agree with ArthurPSmith that there is no need to restrict this to territorial entities -- eg one might want to rank all sorts of things, by various kinds of determination method (P459). - Oppose Use subject has role (P2868). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:22, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Excessive duplication of information from referenced item. Generally no need to specify the type of territory (Q1496967)-based properties like located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) with qualifiers. So you can get to the point that all the properties of the referenced item will be duplicated by qualifiers. For example adding occupation (P106) or date of birth (P569) to spouse (P26).
