AlessioBot 1[edit]
AlessioBot (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
Operator: AlessioMela (talk • contribs • logs)
Task/s: Create new items (or update existing ones) about italian national heritage, importing data from Ministry of Culture (Q1347047) SPARQL endpoint.
Code: https://github.com/synapta/wikidata-mibact-luoghi-cultura
Function details: On the Mibact SPARQL endpoint there are all the official national heritage locations of Italy published as open data. The bot will update existing items with new information or will create new ones. All the assertions will come with the source. The bot adds P31 every time there is a rdf:type in the data or according to this mapping (only few items will not have P31). These data are particularly useful for the Wiki Loves Monuments contest because in Italy we need to ask permissions to each administrations due to the freedom of panorama law, so having on Wikidata each monument would be great, in addition of being in general culturally relevant.
I made many tests before this request, so the bot now is blocked. Sorry for the wrong timing and flooding, here the notification and the block. The code is open source (link above) and documented in Italian. Some examples:
- a brand new item: Q54855465
- an update of an exiting item : Castelfidardo international accordion museum of Castelfidardo (Q3868389)
So I ask the permission to unblock and flag my bot to continue the work (~25.000 edits) and to maintain the permission for this task for future updates, because the Mibact will release more data, in the same format, during the year.

- Support by analogy with most other heritage imports. Mahir256 (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I'm also reviewing samples of the import. AlessioMela followed the best practices in documenting the bot very well, which will allow the community to reduce technical debt and maintenance backlogs compared to the status quo. --Nemo 17:22, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- @AlessioMela: I am almost ready to approve the bot. But first I want to ask you to use the template
{{Bot}}
at the bot's user page, as indicated at Wikidata:Bots. Further, be aware that for new bot tasks a seperate request should be made. Thank you. Lymantria (talk) 18:38, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]- @Lymantria: thanks! I added the template, and I'll keep in mind to ask new requests if needed. --AlessioMela (talk) 10:59, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
