Task/s: I am working together with User:Helmoony to import some basic information from templates used on ar-wiki. The first task included setting the country for places in Yemen. I was running the task in the background without bot flag and checked around 100 places by hand and all of them check out. In the mean time User:RobotMichiel1972 (User:Michiel1972) has also working on this and I think all edits have already been made.
Nonetheless we would like to run similar tasks for ar-wiki in order to get the ar-wiki community more involved in Wikidata. For that I would like to request the bot-flag.
Sourcing: Most of the places are only sourced to census information. We will need to get more people on ar-wiki involved to find appropriate sources and get them transferred, but currently providing some basic data to built on seems like a priority.
Code: I posted the code for Yemen here: Wikidata:Pywikibot - Python 3 Tutorial/Gathering data from Arabic-Wikipedia and will post future code on the bots main page.
Function details: The bot iterates over all templates Template:Infobox Place in Yemen (Q21403078) and sets country (P17) => Yemen (Q805).
