I'm working on tr translation, would like to work on more pages for translation -- Hakan·IST 08:16, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- But you do not need the TA flag to translate pages, only to mark them for translation. Have you read the documentation? --Ochilov (talk) 08:26, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yes there're pages I want to translate and 'translate this page' is not available, I'd like to mark them for translation. Hakan·IST 08:43, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- HakanIST, you have no TA right in any wiki, so I do not know whether you know how to tag. You said that there are untagged pages, can you tag one of them so I can see whether you are a good candidate for TA flag or not? --Ochilov (talk) 08:50, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- I've tagged one of the help pages for translation. Hakan·IST 09:29, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- @HakanIST:, em, no. We do not tag by simply adding <translate> two times in the top and the bottom of the page. Are you sure that you have read the documentation carefully? You can look at the example here. If you still have any questions, I welcome you to my discussion page. When you get the idea of right tagging, you get my upvote :) --Ochilov (talk) 10:35, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

- Strong support Most active Turkish Wikipedian and only Tr translator on WikiData. I believe he can handle this job. As Ochilov said above, he know what needs to be done --Mavrikant (talk) 20:00, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

I want to translate the following white paper to Finnish: Wikidata:Flemish_art_collections,_Wikidata_and_Linked_Open_Data/Whitepaper. I am running a Wikidata training project, and the translation rights could become useful in other cases too. --Susannaanas (talk) 18:01, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

- Hi. You do not need to be a translation adminiatrator to translate pages; you can do it via Special:Translate. Can you explain further what do you need the rights for? Thanks! Jianhui67 talk★contribs 03:45, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

While editing Wikidata:Property creators, I noticed that the translation are pretty out of date and you need special rights to mark a page or edits as "ready for translation". I would like to help here. I have read the documentation. --Srittau (talk) 20:38, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Comments
- I won't oppose but note that it needs to be agreed on all the recent changes to the page first. Marking for translation right now could later cause more translations to become outdated and would require more translators' effort. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 20:47, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand that. --Srittau (talk) 20:53, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Srittau: Sorry for the delay. Are you still interested in this user right? --Vogone (talk) 23:37, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Vogone: Now I was away for a month myself. :) Yes, I am still interested. --Srittau (talk) 17:51, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm doing a lot of work with WikiProject Roads and its subpages, particularly moving most of the translations to a Lua module used by the subpages. I would like to be able to remove pages from the translation system in cases where all translations on a page will be moved to the Lua module and tag modified pages for translation when certain unique translations will be kept on the page. --happy5214 23:29, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- See Module:Roadtable and its subpages, particularly Module:Roadtable/sections/i18n, as well as Wikidata:WikiProject Roads/roadtable for information on the new full-page table setup being rolled out to the WD:HWY subpages. -happy5214 23:29, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

- Hello. Could you please confirm you have read and understood the relevant parts of the documentation? Do you have any previous experience with the tool? Regards, --Vogone (talk) 23:41, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- I have read the translation admin docs and at least glossed over the majority of the translator documentation, and I feel reasonably confident in my understanding of them. I don't have any practical experience with translation administration, but I am familiar with the translator interface through recent work here and older work on TWN. -happy5214 23:05, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, I am going to grant the flag now. --Vogone (talk) 23:26, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

- Support Technically competent, and this would let him mark the pages himself instead of having to flag someone else down to make the changes. --Rschen7754 05:21, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello! As the new communication manager for Wikidata, I'd like to create translatable community pages, so the translation administration permission would be very useful. Thanks a lot! --Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (talk) 14:01, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

- @Ymblanter: Staff has an own group which includes translation administrator privileges. I don't think we should grant community rights to work accounts. --Vogone (talk) 16:38, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Vogone:, @Lydia Pintscher (WMDE): If this is the case we should indeed take the right off. Lydia, could you please clarify this? Thanks.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:44, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yes that's correct. Let's switch her account to the staff group. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 20:30, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, I have done the switch. Though of course, you could have done so yourself.
