The event will run 1–3pm at the University of Canterbury (exact location tbc). The aim is to show participants how adding New Zealand collections to Wikidata can be useful, and to train participants to improve Wikidata items so that tools. Tools such as Scholia, which builds academic profiles, will be demonstrated.
Programme[edit]
- Presentation on the New Zealand Thesis Project, with time for discussion and questions.
- Hands-on training in improvement and creation of Wikidata items. We will be working on improving Wikidata items for New Zealand academics, using information from Orcid profiles.

Deborah and Tamsin presented on the New Zealand thesis project and answered questions. We broke for discussion and tea and then a smaller group stayed for the editing workshop, where participants learned how to improve a Wikidata item for a person by adding an Orcid identifier, and then looking at other statements that could be added about someone's education or employment.
