- Abstract
The Wikimedian in Residence model started a bit before the actual development work on Wikidata. Consequently, Wikidata played no role in early residencies, but this is gradually changing, to the point that Wikidata-related activities are forming a central part of some more recent residencies. In this session, we will explore this shift and highlight areas in which Wikidata-focused residencies differ from more traditional ones focused on older Wikimedia projects.
