@Lucas Werkmeister: These are ready, could you please add them to the tool? :-) Jon Harald Søby (talk) 21:03, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jon Harald Søby: I added the verb and adjective templates, the noun templates are pending for now due to the question below. --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 16:12, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Plural forms of bokmål-noun-feminine

[edit]

@Danmichaelo, Jon Harald Søby: When I added the noun templates, one of the automated tests for the tool pointed out that there are two pairs of forms with the same example sentence: Dette er noen [lister]. is shared by plural (Q146786)/indefinite (Q53997857)/feminine (Q1775415) and plural (Q146786)/indefinite (Q53997857)/masculine (Q499327), and Dette er [listene]. is shared between plural (Q146786)/definite (Q53997851)/feminine (Q1775415) and plural (Q146786)/definite (Q53997851)/masculine (Q499327). Are there cases where the plural (in)definite forms are different between feminine (Q1775415) and masculine (Q499327), or can these pairs maybe be merged into one form each? --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 16:11, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Lucas Werkmeister, Danmichaelo: As far as I can tell after doing some spotchecks in the official Norwegian dictionary, there are no words for which the plurals differ between the genders, so it should be okay to merge them I think. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 12:35, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Danmichaelo, Jon Harald Søby: Thanks, I’ve updated the template. If you can quickly check that I didn’t make a mistake, then I can upload the template :) --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 16:08, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Looks good! But when I think some more about it, the indefinite form is always the same as well. The only difference is which article you use, but that is not strictly part of the form. Maybe the forms can be merged and the example can be changed to Dette er en/ei [liste]? Jon Harald Søby (talk) 18:41, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jon Harald Søby: Yeah, that makes sense too. (And I just realized the labels needed to be updated as well, can you check that I removed the correct part?) --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:25, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Yes, looks good to me! Jon Harald Søby (talk) 21:32, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Danmichaelo, Jon Harald Søby: Thanks, the noun templates are now live as well :) --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 22:58, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Combined masculine and neuter

[edit]

@Lucas Werkmeister: I just added a template for combined masculine and neuter, which happens fairly often (often enough to warrant a template, IMO). However, there is one thing I'd like to ask. Form 4 and Form 5 in what I added are in many cases – but far from all – identical. If they are, it would be ideal to be able to skip F5, and remove masculine (Q499327) from F4. Is that feasible? (Note that if it is not possible without a lot of changes, that's totally okay, we can work around it.) Jon Harald Søby (talk) 01:39, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, I don’t think I want to add such special cases to the tool… if it’s important enough, I guess splitting the template into two would be an option? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 11:53, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Sorry, didn't see the reply until now. Yes, totally understandable that you don't want such special cases. In that case, I think the easiest option is to just mark Form 5 as optional, and – if possible – add an explanatory text to it explaining when to use it and when not to. Could that work? Jon Harald Søby (talk) 11:38, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jon Harald Søby would putting a short explanation into the label work? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 16:53, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Definitely! Added one now. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 19:28, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jon Harald Søby I moved it to the label, does it still look okay? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:45, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Yup, no problem! Jon Harald Søby (talk) 23:42, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jon Harald Søby alright, deployed! Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 13:49, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
🥳 Thank you very much! Jon Harald Søby (talk) 14:09, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

s-verb

[edit]

@Lucas Werkmeister: I just added another template, for passive verbs (s-verb). No rush. 😊 Jon Harald Søby (talk) 13:31, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jon Harald Søby: Since the lexical category is just verb (Q24905), maybe the template identifier should be bokmål-verb-something instead? (bokmål-verb-passive?) Also, can you rephrase the last example so that the placeholder isn’t at the beginning, to avoid people entering the form in initial-uppercase? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:28, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: Sure, bokmål-verb-passive is fine. About the imperative example, I can't really think of an alternative. And the example from the other verb form is similarly upper-case without causing any problems so far (probably because I'm the main person using this, but still … 😝). Jon Harald Søby (talk) 20:56, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think in other languages we’ve used something like “Hey, [imperative]!”, is that possible? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 23:06, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Lucas Werkmeister: I finally though of an example, so I changed it to add «Vennligst» (please) first. I also changed that in the main verb template to avoid the capital letter. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 20:50, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jon Harald Søby: Thanks, template added and updated! Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 23:39, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! Jon Harald Søby (talk) 07:45, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

språknavn

[edit]

@Lucas Werkmeister: I added a new template for language names here and in Wikidata:Wikidata Lexeme Forms/Norwegian Nynorsk. Could you please add them to the tool? Jon Harald Søby (talk) 23:50, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jon Harald Søby: Should be deployed now :) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 18:34, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thanks! Jon Harald Søby (talk) 18:35, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
