language dependency of no value setting
[edit]I found one thing. So I post it here. Currently there are some properties which are set as "no value". In other words, those quantity is set as it should not have any unit. But in my mother language (Japanese (Q5287)), most of them have unit or unit-like thing. (see w:en:Measure word, w:en:Japanese counter word, or perhaps this blog entry is good). For example:
- population (P1082) - number of people inhabiting the place, is counted using 人 (nin). 1人, 2人, 3人...
- ranking (P1352) - the subject's numbered position within a tournament or group of performers, is counted using 位 (i). 1位, 2位, 3位...
- number of elevators (P1301) - number of elevators in a building, is counted using 基 (ki). 1基, 2基, 3基...
And so on. I think there is no simple solution for this language dependency. So this post is just for information. --Was a bee (talk) 16:08, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
