Formatter URL[edit]

I found the correct formatter URL, but it's a bit complicated: http://psxdatacenter.com/games/U/(first char of title and for numbers "0-9")/$1.html (NTSC-U) and http://psxdatacenter.com/games/P/(first char of title and for numbers "0-9")/$1.html (PAL) and http://psxdatacenter.com/games/J/(first char of title and for numbers "0-9")/$1.html (NTSC-J). The correct formatter URL to use can be determined from the value: SCES/SLES for PAL, SCUS/SLUS for NTSC-U and SLPM/SLPS for NTSC-U. Mbch331 (talk) 09:28, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For this linking we now have PlayStation DataCenter URL (P7707) − every item with this one should also have PlayStation ID (P2606) − we can bot it if need be :)
(There are Playstation ID (or Sony ID?) on hardware too − for which there will not be any PlayStation DataCenter URL (P7707))

Are PAL (Q105973), NTSC (Q185796) and NTSC-J (Q6955505) the correct items to use for this qualifier? @Jean-Frédéric:--Trade (talk) 10:39, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Trade: Thanks for raising this, this has been on my mind as well. You’re correct, that having place of publication = USA or Europe is imprecise − as far as I understand, it’s the broadcast standard region that counts − NTSC-U games were (presumably?) also released at least in Canada ; and I’m not sure in how many countries PAL games were released? How about Brazil, Australia? etc.
Not sure how this translates in terms of items − I noticed we have PAL region (Q2729044), but there does not seem to be an equivalent for the NTSC regions?

Maybe we should propose a "broadcast standard region" property? --Trade (talk) 21:12, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
