Numerical IDs[edit]

My bot has just imported over 400 IDs from en.Wikipedia. In about a dozen cases (example: Kevin Chong (Q6396015) -> 168867) the canonical ID at GoodReads is all-digits. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:55, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regex changed accordingly. Lymantria (talk) 15:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the identifier is always all digits. The name is just added into the URL link but it never needs to be part of it. 50.53.1.33 11:31, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, regex fixed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:55, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Diacritics[edit]

We seem to have some false-positive constraint violations, caused by diacritics in names. One example is Dubravko Škiljan (Q1252037), whose ID is 5495561.Dubravko_Škiljan. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:03, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Added. Lymantria (talk) 14:59, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And that did not work. Tried another way. Lymantria (talk) 06:47, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Did not work either. I think we have to add those items as exceptions (and done that). Lymantria (talk) 15:23, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It works fine with all digits: Dubravko Škiljan (Q1252037) => 5495561. 50.53.1.33 11:35, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese authors having two IDs[edit]

It seems like Goodreads has two IDs for Japanese (and possibly other countries which use different writing system) authors, one for their name in the Latin script and another for their name in kanji. – Jeluang Terluang (talk) 18:28, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
