Bad name[edit]

I think that calling this property "URL on Nintendo eShop" might lead to confusion since its value isn't actually supposed to be an url. Maybe choose another name? --Nw520 (talk) 15:20, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The last proposal was "Nintendo eShop slug", but no one gave feedback, and curiously, it didn't seems to have been changed when the property was created, even if it was changed in the proposal, cf this diff. I guess I will have to change it again. --Misc (talk) 17:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Btcprox: reverted to URL. Could you please explain why URL is more appropriate than slug? --Nw520 (talk) 08:02, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nw520: whoops, I thought it was an accidental overwrite! Didn't see the discussion here. Although I think most English-speaking laypeople would tend to associate "slug" with the animal rather than the reader-friendly segment of a URL? And I did see that using "ID" might make it confusable with the former Nintendo of America Game Store ID. How about "URL slug on Nintendo eShop" then, to be clearer? --Btcprox (talk) 09:03, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
At least, english has a name for that, we do not have in french. My main concern is to avoid confusion, and I was ok for URL, but then people said this wasn't a URL (see proposal). URL slug is fine for me. There is also discussion on the Wikidata:WikiProject_Video_games talk page about how that ID is tied to the US shop, and the numerous ID that nintendo eshops are using. The older one is still present in the page, just not addressable (AFAIK), but unique nonetheless and there is internal IDs leaking around on different shops, etc. --Misc (talk) 10:53, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Misc: Okay so far now I've tweaked it to be "URL slug on Nintendo eShop". Just in case I've also added "Nintendo eShop ID" as another alias for those unfamiliar with the term "slug" in this context, but more familiar with the term "ID". --Btcprox (talk) 04:59, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

required statements constraints[edit]

I noticed that User:Trade added requirements for publisher (P123), publication date (P577), platform (P400), data size (P3575), game mode (P404), distribution format (P437), maximum number of players (P1873), and language of work or name (P407) but reverted the edits later, see Special:Diff/1194671806. I find it difficult to remember on which sites I can find values for these properties so having requirements is useful. Why did you revert your edits? —Dexxor (talk) 13:46, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

One of the other users thought it was excessive. You are welcome to revert my revert if you wish to do so. --Trade (talk) 14:06, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
