Use for numbering in song books[edit]

I have started to use this property to indicate the song number in song books, e.g., Den yndigste rose er funden (Q21065160) is published in (P1433) Den Danske Salmebog, 2003 edition (Q12308040) and has the number "122" indicated with section, verse, paragraph, or clause (P958). I am wondering if this is a good choice? Do we have other options? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 13:00, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it makes more sense with series ordinal (P1545)? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 20:47, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

One issue is whether section, verse, paragraph, or clause (P958) or series ordinal (P1545) are meant to refer to the subject/item, property and/or object/value. When series ordinal (P1545) is used with author (P50) the series ordinal (P1545) indicates something related to the property (first author, second author). — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 20:57, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To me it sounds section, verse, paragraph, or clause (P958) is better option here. series ordinal (P1545) is more for ordering things, while this property is better suited for referencing things. Image that for some reason the songs in the songbook were not simply numbered, but had a suffix, for example for the type of song. Then series ordinal (P1545) couldn't be used, although the difference is mainly in the syntax of the numbering system used. --Srittau (talk) 22:51, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Grid References[edit]

Can I use this property to indicate that an information (eg location) can be found on a specific square of a map that has a grid reference. For instance

Object Grid reference
Paris D/Ⅵ
London C/Ⅳ
Toulouse P/Ⅴ-G/Ⅶ

Or should I use a different property for that? --Loominade (talk) 08:10, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
