Aschenbrenner had been associated with the laboratory since 1946, when he was invited to come to the U.S. from Germany by the Air Force. From that time until his retirement from Itek in 1966, he made numerous contributions especially in the area of new methods and instrumentation for photogrammetric measurement and image transformation.
