The first Catholic Missionary of Pasig was Rev. Alonso de Alvarado, companion of Villalobos in his expedition in Moluccas. The first church was built in 1575. The present one was used by the British for military purposes in their campaign against the military forces of Simon de Anda y Salazar. (English)
