Itinatag bilang simbahang parokyal ng mga paring Rekoletos sa patronato ni Nuestra Señora Del Pilar at San Juan Bautista at sa pamamahala ni Francisco de Santiago, Orsa, bilang unang kura paroko, 1795. Mula sa Toclong inilipat sa Balangon, ang kasalukuyang kinatatayuan nito, 1823. Ipinatayo ang simbahang gawa sa bato at ladrilyo sa ilalim ni Nicolas Becerra, Orsa, na nagsibli mula 1821–1840. Pinangasiwaan ng mga paring sekular, 1897. Naging katedral at luklukan ng Diyosesis ng Imus, 1961. (Tagalog)
