Town gate constructed, 1878–1880; inaugurated, 1894, by Don Pedro A. Paterno. Occupied by the revolutionists, 1896; by the Americans, 1899; by the Japanese, 1942. Liberated, 1945, by the Filipinos, led by Manuel Soriano. (English)
