September 1991 marked the 25th anniversary of the Diocese of Beaumont and the 300th anniversary of the first recorded Mass within its limits. The latter happened on September 8, 1691, in the Holy Name of Mary Spanish Mission in Cherokee County; the former on September 29, 1966, in St. Anthony Cathedral in Beaumont. (English)
