Preferred term

[edit]

GNV:involuntary treatment,assisted treatment,forced drugging,compulsory treatment,forced treatment[1].

The winners are "compulsory treatment" and "involuntary treatment".

"assisted treatment" has gained ground, but was much less common in 2000; furthermore, "assisted treatment" is an Orwellian term and therefore ought to be avoided, to yield zero ideological ground to enemies of the open society. It lays close to the mind that the term "assisted treatment" is a result of powerful pharmaceutical interests gaining ground over the liberties of the open society; whether that is true would, however, require a rigorous proof.

In 1950, "compulsory treatment" was the clear winner. --Dan Polansky (talk) 08:20, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
