Follows property

[edit]

The 'follows' property - Property:P155 - is defined as "immediately prior item in some series of which the subject is part". In the case of Animal Farm, it is not part of a series including Coming Up for Air and Nineteen Eighty-Four in any meaningful sense of the word 'series'. It really is not helpful to be too literal over the concept of series, because when these values are imported into the English Wikipedia, they are immediately rejected as not part of a book series, as the common usage of the word prevails. Is there any user who finds value in an inference like "Animal Farm follows Coming Up for Air"? as opposed to "Foundation and Empire follows Foundation", for example, which does fit with the concept of a sequel. I suggest that these sort of claims be deleted from book entries wherever the books are not part of a recognisable series. --RexxS (talk) 16:26, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
