Usage[edit]

I'm confused about the difference between this category item and Category:Women (Q7473085). The conclusion that I've come to is that this item can be about categories for female humans, as a general concept, and is the main category item for female (Q6581072) (female humans). The other item Category:Women (Q7473085) can be used for categories that contain individual female humans (people by name). Neither is used in the sense of "adult human", so not linked with woman (Q467). It's unlikely that there's any consistency in sitelinks or labels across various languages. I believe the items for male humans are equally confusing. Ghouston (talk) 02:32, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ghouston: I tend to agree with all this. So I suppose we should distribute sitelinks in Category:Female organisms (Q7464256) into Category:Woman (Q1410688) (human) and Category:Female (Q51601103) (not human including or not human) and redirect to any of them? --Infovarius (talk) 13:19, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately there are 3 categories in uk-wiki (one is under deletion), Commons and maybe others. --Infovarius (talk) 13:28, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Commons has the full set of categorys: c:Category:Female humans, c:Category:Women and c:Category:Women by name. There seem to be only 2 category items for them to link with. The third is linked directly to a main item, but perhaps a third category item should be created in case some of the categories in other projects match. I did try to sort it out, but I got reverted. The same issues apply to the categories for men too, of course. The Women by name category on Commons is really "female humans by name", since girls who didn't reach adulthood are categorised there too, e.g., c:Category:Anne Frank.
