What do you think about

living international auxiliary language

Originaly Swahili (Q7838) was a "constructed" langue, also Modern Hebrew (Q8141) the official language of Israel.
Category:Native Esperanto speakers (Q8667337) lists only a few of the native Esperanto speakers.

For me, no problem. Cheers. Pikolas (talk) 11:10, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think you mean the en description, not the label.
I don't know about Swahili, but Modern Hebrew is more of a "reconstructed" language than a genuine conlang. I think it makes sense to describe Esperanto as a "constructed" language, as it's one of its main defining characteristics, and being "living" really isn't. --Yair rand (talk) 21:59, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OSM key[edit]

@Peter F. Patel-Schneider: I was hoping to understand your recent edits regarding OpenStreetMap tag or key (P1282). How is it an obsolete value? ~nmaia d 02:24, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@NMaia: It's not so much that it is obsolete, but that it is unclear as to whether it is correct or not at all. I'm trying to clear up the meaning of OpenStreetMap tag or key (P1282). Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 02:32, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's weird to think of OSM keys as "correct" or "incorrect". The real question is whether it is used in the map or not, and in this case, it is: https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/esperanto ~nmaia d 02:40, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The original intent of OpenStreetMap tag or key (P1282) was to link Wikidata classes to OSM keys and tags, presumably so that one could say that an OSM entry with the key or tag was an instance of the class. This has been extended in several ways, for example there are now links to sports and it is certainly the case that the OSM entry is not an instance of the sport. However, these links can be considered to not be about class membership but instead about values of the sport (P641) property. But what then does Key:esperanto mean in Wikidata? I coudn't figure out the answer, thus the deprecation. Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 18:03, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The key is used to refer to Zamenhof-Esperanto object (Q75762) in the map. You could argue that the key is a better fit in that item, but deprecating it makes no sense to me. ~nmaia d 00:04, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Add of the translation.[edit]

I can't add the translation of Wikibooks at Lithuanian because it is a protected page. Please help! Esperantysta Druhomił (talk) 11:11, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Esperantysta Druhomił: I've added a link to b:lt:Esperanto. --Yair rand (talk) 20:36, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
