wrong. --Infovarius (talk) 22:42, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
scientist (Q901) is concerned (deals with, requires) a verifiable object (verification (Q1965503), falsifiability (Q220888)). But believer (Q17573152)? faith (Q5410500) only. --Fractaler (talk) 13:37, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
One can deals with verifiable objects in his activity and has beliefs in other fields. --Infovarius (talk) 11:51, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It is about a model of world. The scientist creates a scientific model of the world. The believer forms the religious model of the world. Science does not allow you to add to the scientific model of the world that is based on faith --Fractaler (talk) 12:58, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This nuance should be expressed in the labels and statements, and preferably added to references where cites exist; right now none of that is expressed here. Arlo Barnes (talk) 00:01, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

believer is only religious?[edit]

Seems a bit narrow to define a little-b "believer" as an instance of religious identity. One can be a believer in all sorts of things. I believe my hometown has a population of around 100,000 but not exactly 100,000. A US Democrat is a believer in the Democratic Party's approach to governance. A believer in the idea that the Earth is flat might be called a "Flat Earther". One can be a believer of propaganda. Rendall (talk) 07:53, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
