What's exactly the difference between asphalt (Q167510) and Q202251? Dovole (talk) 11:32, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- Asphalt and bitumen are often used synonymous. Bitumen, however, can also refer to a special fraction/component of asphalts/crude oils/kerogens. Furthermore, it may depend on the language. In German, for example, the highly viscous residual of oil distilling and/or cracking is called “Bitumen” (and also the special fraction/component of asphalts/crude oils/kerogens is!), whereas “Asphalt” refers to either asphalt concrete ot to natural asphalt/tar. --Gretarsson (talk) 08:39, 14 March 2019 (UTC); modified 08:59, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
