Identification
[edit]While it is possible that this is Thomas Meres (Q7792396), there is no way I see to identify the two. The record at [1] is just "Mears, Esq.".
It is also possible that the date of birth given, 1662, applies to the eldest and disinherited son Thomas of that Thomas Meres: see s:Meres, Francis (DNB00). He may also appear as Thomas Meeres, and was the father of John Meres (Q18534208).
There is a date issue, though. The second son, John Meres (Q6248520), is given as born 1660. If both dates, 1662 for Thomas and 1660 for John, are correct, then this Thomas is not the elder son of Thomas Meres (Q7792396). Charles Matthews (talk) 09:55, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
