I am creating this item in an effort to eat our own dog food and create an exportable publication list on Wikidata for authors affiliated with Wikimedia Research (Q21561406), following the data model proposed by WikiProject Source Metadata. cc User:Fnielsen User:Daniel_Mietchen --DarTar (talk) 21:39, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. Being inclusionist I am always deletionistfobic and wonder what the Wikidatian on the street will say to a promiscuous upload of all you articles? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 09:10, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Another item?

[edit]

@DarTar: I suppose this item is the same as Wikimedia Research (Q27983264)? I hoped they were: I merged — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 18:29, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Fnielsen: they were not. This item is about a research organization, i.e. a department within WMF (used to represent formal affiliations), the other item was about an academic field (used to represent the main topic of a publication, a conference etc). They should be restored as separate items and we should also check if some statements now need to be fixed too.--DarTar (talk) 16:17, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I quickly checked and usage looks good, nothing needs to be fixed.--DarTar (talk) 16:19, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. What then is Technology (Q27983251)? Academic field or organization? It was linked by one of them. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 19:34, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Fnielsen: no idea, it looks like two totally unrelated items merged into one.--DarTar (talk) 04:01, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@DarTar: Between your and my comment there was a merge by an inexperienced user. I have unmerged Technology (Q27983251). — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 08:02, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
