What is meant here?[edit]
I just removed some ambiguous Spanish-language terms in the English-language fields for the label, description, and alias. To the best of my understanding, the labels in several of the languages are not clearly equivalent: e.g. the Hebrew כיתת יורים literally means "firing squad" in English, which doesn't seem identical to the French or Spanish (though perhaps among the aliases?). Therefore:
- I can't determine the correct English from any of them if they're not all identical,
- If the Hebrew is correct for this item, all the languages will have to be checked for equivalence to the definition "firing squad",
Suspect imprecise translations between labels and aliases among the various languages
The item creation, per View history, was the Danish term for "execution by firing squad" and not merely "firing squad" or "execution by firearms". My queries:
- Is "firing squad" considered a legitimate alias for "execution by firing squad"?
- How to verify the validity of the labels/descriptions/aliases in other languages?
I'll bring this matter to Project Chat. -- Deborahjay (talk) 21:09, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
"has cause"[edit]
"has cause" should be "Death", which itself is caused by ballistic trauma (see https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q205348)
Also, the semi-protection prevents me from entering countries that used this execution method --Ötel98 (talk) 13:53, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
