Split exhibition and catalog!?[edit]

@Jane023: I don't think it is a good idea to have one item for the exhibition and the catalog together. Perhaps we should split it? Cheers, --Marsupium (talk) 18:41, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose you could split it, but I don't really see the value. The exhibition didn't have different catalogs per location and our only record of the exhibition now is the catalog. You would need to connect the catalog and its commons category to both items, no? Jane023 (talk) 22:18, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is similarly useful to use one item for a person and its grave. I don't think it's good practice. The exhibition shouldn't have publication date (P577), but start time (P580) and end time (P582); no place of publication (P291), but location (P276) and they might have different titles and should get different titles. This practice can not only produce confusing but even wrong data, e.g. with a statement on fee (P2555). fee (P2555) is subproperty of price (P2284). So a data retriever can get the admission fee as a price for the book etc. --Marsupium (talk) 15:12, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
