Andy, For copyright status (P6216) we always use determination method (P459) qualifier, and I am not sure how to fill it. Help:Copyrights#Items_linked_through_determination_method_(P459)_property lists some possible values. I was thinking about using stated by copyright holder at source website (Q61045577) with a reference to some supporting website. --Jarekt (talk) 21:20, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- The help page you link seems to include a list of reasons why a work is out of, rather than still in, copyright. I'm not aware of any web page specifically stating the copyright status of this book, other than [1]. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:56, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- Andy, Yes the help page is a work in progress, and so far PD works received much more attention than copyrighted ones. This might be the first case like that and I would like to get it right. stated by copyright holder at source website (Q61045577) does not seem like a good fit anymore. Perhaps we could create a new item titled: "based on copyright statement in recently printed media". Do you think that would be accurate? --Jarekt (talk) 13:10, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- I would avoid including the word "recent", as it is i) vague and ii) liable to become stale. For living authors, we can't even predict when the copyright will expire (not for a long time in this case, I hope!) Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:44, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- Andy, I added word "recent" to indicate that it is likely not stale, since 100 year old book also might have "(c)" symbol. But perhaps better label of such item might be "copyrighted work by living author", "based on copyright statement in published media by living author", or something similar. --Jarekt (talk) 20:48, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
