Tests[edit]

  • qırımtatarca
  • Crimean Tatar

Why?[edit]

Why is this language named Crimean Turkish on Wikidata?
"Crimean Turkish" is not used almost at all
And it's widely known that the first name of this language is Crimean Tatar, not Turkish

So, it is to be changed --Devlet Geray (talk) 11:17, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • User:Devlet Geray, "Bu kullanıcının ana tili Qırımtatar tilidir." I saw this on your userpage. I guess it means "Bu kullanıcının ana dili Kırım Tatar dilidir." ("The native language of this user is the Crimean Tatar language".) The only difference with Turkish is to say "til" instead of "dil", something you can find in all Turkish language books as an "old" way of writing "dil"; and Q instead of K in the word Kırım. We Turks left Q out when we made our new alphabet in 1928. Now, for me, in fact you are saying "The native language of this user is the Crimean Turkish language". Why? IMHO simply because the Russians decided to call as "Tatars" the Turks under their area of influence... (Maybe we Turks should say we speak Tatar of Turkey, to make them happy. Funny, no? :) --E4024 (talk) 15:25, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wow! I have not been able to read the Orkhun scripts yet. (BTW you call yourself Joseph but declare Turkish as native language... Cefi Kamhi? :) I mean in Guinea Ecuatorial they may speak Spanish but they do not call themselves Spaniards. E4024 (talk) 15:49, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
