Taxonomic ranks don't have taxon names, so don't add that property. Taxonomic ranks have ... "rank names", which can be different between languages and are best stored as labels/aliases. - Soulkeeper (talk) 11:22, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Usage

[edit]

There is no actual taxonomic rank called subdivision, neither are the "ranks" cohort, legion, Superdivision, Division, Infradivision, Superlegion, Legion, Sublegion, Infralegion, Supercohort, Cohort, Subcohort, Infracohort, Gigaorder, Magnorder/megaorder, Grandorder/capaxorder, Mirorder/hyperorder, Hyperkingdom etc. While these terms do get used in the literature occassionally, there use is sporadic and inconstistent, with most taxa being referred to as "clade".
