Changes to Swedish labels here and elsewhere[edit]

The label in Swedish should be författare. Also-known-as terms should not be skriftställare and litteratörer; these two terms, along with the current label skribent, are actually used to distinguish other writing professions from författare ("writer"). However:

Författare is currently used as the Swedish label for author (Q482980); the Swedish label should instead be upphovsman (along with the aka upphovsperson). But upphovsperson is currently a Swedish aka term in creator (Q2500638), where it should be replaced by upphovsmakare. --Setupgeode (talk) 08:43, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. I changed accordingly. Tanzania (talk) 20:16, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Setupgeode, Tanzania: I did not read this thread before I posted below, sorry. Both writer (Q36180) and author (Q482980) are currently författare in Swedish, and both are directed to the Swedish page "Författare" (the former by a redirect). Förbätterlig (talk) 16:05, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Swedish Wikipedia[edit]

@Väsk: Can we link this to the Swedish Wikipedia article for author (Q482980) somehow? Förbätterlig (talk) 16:17, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you could create the article sv:Författare (person som kommunicerar med ord), add a sitelink on this object and then redirect the article to the Etymologi section of sv:Författare. It's not necessarily advisable, since that page is about a slightly different subject. Väsk (talk) 08:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Label in French[edit]

Following [[Wikidata:Requests for comment/Gender neutral labels for occupations and positions in French] ], the label in French should now include the male and the female form (ie "écrivain ou écrivaine"). The inclusive shortened form ("écrivain·e") should be included as an alias. PAC2 (talk) 20:15, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Subclass of penman[edit]

@Infovarius: I had removed subclass of (P279)penman (Q108762424) because, viceversa, penman (Q108762424)subclass of (P279)writer (Q36180), which is obviously problematic. One of these subclass of (P279) should obviously be removed; I thought this was the wrong one ... but maybe the other one is wrong and this is correct? --Epìdosis 21:16, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, indeed this is the problem. We should listen for someone knowing some of scandinavian languages to read appropriate sitelinks. --Infovarius (talk) 21:14, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
