Data deletion reverts[edit]

I'm getting rather tired of an IP reverting my edits, which undo their removal of data which should be kept, and possibly marked deprecated or ended. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:54, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Label[edit]

The label doesn't need to be "Meta Platforms"; that's just the English Wikipedia's temporary workaround for the fact that there's already a w:Meta (company) article about an unrelated company. There's a lot of support for moving that article out of the way, just not consensus over where to move it yet. There's no technical reason why Wikidata needs to depart from the company's common name for the label. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 18:16, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note that "Meta Platforms" (respectively Meta Platforms, Inc.) is the current official name of the company, there is no proposal to rename w:Meta Platforms itself. Sticking with the label on enwiki is the best way to avoid endless and pointless label wars.--Jklamo (talk) 10:13, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jklamo: The current legal name of the company is "Meta Platforms, Inc.", and the current official trade name is "Meta". w:Meta Platforms says as much. The best way to avoid an endless label war is to discuss the matter, so thank you for responding here. I disagree that the current English Wikipedia article title should dictate the label here, given the complications around what's now called w:Meta (augmented reality company). But I started a discussion about the article title there, since we might as well resolve the ambiguity. Minh Nguyễn 💬 23:57, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
