Schools as a location[edit]
@Fralambert: I notice you've removed statements saying that this is a subclass of a structure multiple times now. I don't think that is correct though - most uses of this item are physical locations (of the 13095 instance ofs, 7814 also have coordinates, a location or a Geonames ID) whereas school building (Q1244442) has only been used 574 times (and from what I've seen most of those appear to be your edits or from a single bot). That doesn't really surprise me: In English (at least), people don't usually make a distinction between a school as an organisation and a school as a location.
Removing the statements which make this a subclass of geographic location is creating constraint violations for quite a few properties, in particular Wikidata:Database_reports/Constraint_violations/P1566 which has 5835 for school alone, and more than 1000 more for other types of schools.
There's also a problem with using school building (Q1244442) because many schools are not a single building, they're a site/complex consisting of multiple buildings, often including outside areas too (sports facilities).
I think a better option (which would require less editing and match what people expect and therefore be more likely to be correctly used) would be to add two new items, school (organisation) and school (site/complex) and have this as a subtype of both. school building (Q1244442) would then be part of school (site/complex). What do you think?

- It needs to be a subclass of some sort of geographic location. --- Jura 05:51, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
- Since I got no response to whether two extra items would be a good idea or not, I've simply re-added subclass of (P279) architectural structure (Q811979) here. I'm still open to the idea of adding two more items and making this subclasses of both though. - Nikki (talk) 11:40, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
