votes received, and date: electoral college or popular vote?
[edit]The number votes received by Obama is currently listed as 332, which is the number of electoral college votes received. But the date is listed as nov 6, which was the deadline for the popular election, so there is an inconsistency. Do we need two items here one for the popular vote and one for the electoral college? Or should we punt for now and just change to use the number of popular votes? Which of course will confuse people when the "successful candidate" has fewer votes than another candidate.... - I note that the original proposal for P1111 says that The type of votes should be the type officially counted to determine the winner, so in the case of the US presidential election, it would be electoral votes., so I'll take my case to Property talk:P1111, since I'd hate for us to confuse the separate electoral college election with the popular vote, and lose the ability to pick out cases where the winner by popular vote is different.
