@Estopedist1: this item is is for a transport structure. You changed port (Q44782) to harbor (Q283202) but the latter item as per its current description, as well as per en:Harbor referred under sitelinks, is primarily for type of body of water not transport structure. So accordingly and for consistency it seems to me that all objects of "sadam" type rather should be kept as port (Q44782) instances.
As for English labels, I think it's less important to harmonize these, name translations of some ports commonly use "port" and some use "harbour". But if English labels should be harmonized, at least for smaller lesser known ports that probably don't have common name in English then rather I would consider using word "port" again for the same reason. Or was this discussed somewhere earlier already?
Also is there any particular reason you use US spelling ("harbor")? To me it seems that British spelling is much more common in Estonia. Take for example "harbour" in official translation of the Ports Act, or common translations "Saaremaa Harbour" and "Seaplane Harbour". - Wikidata and enwiki uses the American word "harbor". "Harbor" is wider concept that "port". Port is commerce-based. All marginal structures (e.g. Ringsu harbor) in Estonia are definitely harbors, not ports Estopedist1 (talk) 12:27, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- This commerce-based port and (not commerce-based?) harbour distinction is not supported by respective items nor by enwiki articles.
- As already mentioned, harbor (Q283202) as per its current description is not for a (man-made) structure at all. In addition to the sense of that item, word "harbour" has another meaning in which it is synonymous with "port", en:Harbor article too mentions that these words can be used interchangeably. Earlier the port (Q44782) item also included "harbour"/"harbor" as synonyms (unclear why at some point they were removed).
- In enwiki article titles actually both "harbour" and "harbor" are common. There are many article titles that include these words beside that of en:Harbor article. As per en:MOS:ENGVAR it "prefers no national variety over others" but certain spelling can be preferred if it has "strong national ties to a topic".
