Meaning[edit]
@Laddo, Poulpy:. This item defines colums as subclasses of Template:Q192784, matching Wikipedia's definition of a colum. But what do we do with "columns" that do not fit into that definition like victory column (Q1930585) ? --Zolo (talk) 11:24, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Zolo: IMHO it is an error to derive victory column (Q1930585)
from column (Q4817) : Q4817 represents the basic functional architectural element, having a structural role, like a pier (Q335297) (distinct also from pilaster (Q175112) that is decorative rather than structural). victory column (Q1930585) is a monument that happens to look like a column. If you can locate an item representing vertical architectural elements that are non-structural, then you might have a valid parent class (and for pilaster (Q175112) as well). Removed subclass of "support" and "shape"[edit]
Because both of them have superclasses that imply this is non-physical, which isn't true. JesseW (talk) 00:17, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
