Relabel as "non-binary"[edit]

Having neither a male nor female gender is becoming legally recognized in more jurisdictions, and as such, the less politically-charged term "gender non-binary" is increasingly being used in legal, academic, and professional contexts (where neutral language is desired). I think it would be good for Wikidata to adopt this terminology as well, as not all non-binary people actually like the term "genderqueer". Thoughts? Kaldari (talk) 16:07, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Since there haven't been any replies to this and it's been over a month, I'm going to go ahead and change it. Kaldari (talk) 02:53, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Subclass of gendered?[edit]

Gendered is opposite of agender, where as agender is subclass of non-binary. Isn't it a contradiction? Because non-binaryness includes agenderness. Mayhap it should be just gender, just as transgender person, or gender identity, just as transgender male (example), but also it's also an umbrella term/spectrum. Trying to change the language links for Welsh[edit]

I am updating the Welsh version of Non-binary gender and thus changed its name from "anneuaidd" to "rhywedd anneuaidd" so that it better reflected the true meaning, however the language links do not connect and since this page is locked I cannot change them. So, I was wondering if anyone could make this change for me? thanks in advance  – The preceding unsigned comment was added by LandmarkFilly54 (talk • contribs) at 23:52, 8 июля 2021 (UTC).

✓ Done. --Infovarius (talk) 21:38, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
thanks, but i meant could you changed the connections under the heading 'wikipedia' so that the page connects correctly, sorry for the inconvenience. LandmarkFilly54 (talk) 16:44, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Usually redirects should be resolved automatically if there are no conflicts. --Infovarius (talk) 20:41, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Link to Hebrew Wikipedia[edit]

I tried to change the link to HebWiki from "ג'נדרקוויר" (Genderqueer) to "א-בינארי" (Nonbinary) and couldn't, I assume due to the semi-protected status. In EnWiki, non-binary links to the article while genderqueer leads to a redirect page titled "genderqueer". In HebWiki the redirect page is "א-בינארי" (non-binary) while "ג'נדרקוויר" (genderqueer) is the article, but genderqueer doesn't link to it, non-binary does. (TL;DR: please change the HebWiki link here to א-בינארי so I can add ג'נדרקוויר in Q12964198.) YuvalNehemia (talk) 09:49, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese description[edit]

The current description is not quite right. It says “处于流动的性别认同” (gender identity that is fluid) which is of course not necessarily true for all non-binary people. I think a more appropriate one would be "不属于男性或女性的性别认同" (a gender identity that is neither male or female), which means exactly the same thing as the current English description. --LT1211 (talk) 09:49, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"part of transexuality" is not just outdated, but also the wrong spelling[edit]

The statement "part of: transexuality" should be replaced with something more specific, up to date and correct, such as "subclass of: transgender". Opinions? VatBatCat (talk) 19:52, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
