Minecraft

[edit]

THERE IS TOO MINECRAFT FOR NEW NINTEDO 3DS

I think we should put the Pocket Edition and the X-BOX Edition into own items. --DSGalaktos (talk) 15:05, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Some Wikipedia has different article for both versions? If no, I don't see why we should do so. --Stryn (talk) 16:16, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why we don't have the Minecraft task force?

[edit]

This is not the right place to ask. Task forces are not made automatically, someone should start them. If you think it's needed, then start. --Stryn (talk) 06:43, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How this would be?--MisterSanderson (talk) 14:35, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of data or other vandalism that you've noticed

[edit]

Possible vandalism or edits made in good faith though in which version history information was removed:

So I made a post to this user. Well, hope that no more wikidata information is removed for this item. We should not remove information for reasons such as that the page becomes too big or something like that. If we have data we should value it if it is correct. If it is not we should attempt to improve it. If you see other information being removed please get in touch and share what has happened! Ελλίντερεστ (talk) 10:44, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

version (P348) history since 22 april 2014

[edit]

The first version data added to this entry was by JAnDbot on 22 April 2014. As early as 27 May 2014 made by 85.218.110.50 a faulty edit was discovered. It seems like common practice that users who edit or add version (P348) data do so by thinking that it is proper to delete data of old versions of Minecraft and replace that data with the latest version of data. If you see an edit done to version (P348) it could be unintentional vandalism, users simply don't understand what data needs to be there.

For some interesting information on how a data item with version (P348) history should look like take a look at this wikidata item. I'm going to begin now, in attempting to preserve all the good edits done previously to the version (P348) property as long as there are ways to verify the validity of the claim. Adding the inspired by (P941) property?

[edit]

In wikipedia:Minecraft it's written that Minecraft has been inspired by other games (with references).

Would it be reasonable to add a inspired by (P941) property to the Wikidata entry?

An example for a value from the Wikipedia page could be Infiniminer (Q18202464), with reference to this blogpost.

--Pyrichi (talk) 14:21, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There already is a influenced by (P737) statement but inspired by (P941) is also commonly used to model this relation and seems a bit stronger. The addition seems reasonable to me. —Dexxor (talk) 20:27, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Minecraft: Java Edition

[edit]

Looks like this item should be about the game "Minecraft: Java Edition", the main game, and the franchise should be documented on this item: Minecraft (Q25445348)

What do you think? --Dr03ramos (talk) 15:30, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This item currently includes the PC, mobile and console editions of Minecraft and I don’t think we should change that. This includes all editions listed on w:Minecraft (franchise)#Minecraft (2011) but not other games in the franchise, e.g. Minecraft: Story Mode. —Dexxor (talk) 11:15, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Separating into other items

[edit]

This item currently describes multiple editions of Minecraft, yet not all of them are compatible, so I've made a few more items to separate them.

These items have existed before and have at least one non-redirect Wikipedia link:

I made these:

We're not quite sure yet what to do with this item though. This is being discussed at Wikidata talk:WikiProject Video games#Handling multiple Minecraft editions. --ihaveahax (talk) 14:48, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is still confusing. This item is basically Minecraft: Java Edition (Q105729297), being a 2011 "video game". AntisocialRyan (Talk) 01:38, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This item should probably be changed from being "a video game" to being "a group of video games" and be generalized to match all editions of the game. I is chan (talk) 12:47, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done. @L10nM4st3r: The template is simply called {{Edit request}}. —Dexxor (talk) 18:03, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect description in Belarusian

[edit]

It is necessary to correct the short description of the page in Belarusian, because it is written in Russian, not Belarusian 46.53.244.84 09:38, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
