Q16917685
[edit]I see no difference between this item and mobile computer (Q16917685). Only the Russian Wikipedia has a duplicate article, with a proposal to merge the two, but people at ru:Википедия:К_объединению/30_марта_2019 seem to be arguing that one of the articles includes non-computer mobile devices within its scope. I would certainly be possible to broaden the scope of one of these items on Wikidata to be "portable electronic device", and include things like transistor radio (Q506260). However, items should not be repurposed. We could merge these two and create a new item for the expanded scope item. Ghouston (talk) 08:49, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Well, smart watch is not a computer but a Q5082128. Scope of these two is different. --Infovarius (talk) 23:28, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- mobile device (Q5082128) is subclass of computer (Q68) anyway. I think there may be a difference between something that's an instance of a computer vs something that just has a part that's a computer (like a fridge with an embedded microprocessor), but I don't know if that's relevant here. - Also, the English description of mobile device (Q5082128) is "small, hand-held computing device" and its linked English Wikipedia article starts out as "A mobile device (or handheld computer) is a computing device small enough..." Ghouston (talk) 23:57, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
