Coptic as part of Egyptian causes ISO property warning
[edit]There is the problem that Coptic (Q36155) is considered "the latest stage of Egyptian", i e., of Egyptian (Q50868). However, ISO unfortunately has different codes for (Pre-Coptic) Egyptian ("egy") and Coptic (Egyptian) ("cop"). It is unclear whether Egyptian (Q50868) should refer to Egyptian in the linguistic sense or to ISO's implicit notion of Pre-Coptic Egyptian. If it refers to Egyptian in the linguistic sense -- which is to be preferred -- there are two ISO codes for this item, which causes a warning. ~~ Dwer (talk) 15:07, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
