classification as location
[edit]Is an architectural structure localizable or a place, or is it located somewhere and can be moved ? As the time I write these lines, there is two classes for location as superclasses : geographical feature (Q618123) and geographic location (Q2221906) (labelled identically in french). Is this really a good idea ? TomT0m (talk) 15:05, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
what is an architectural structure
[edit]My view is that an architectural structure is something to be considered more or less as a whole, i.e., a building or a tower or maybe even a compound, and not something that is generally considered as part of some other structure, i.e., not a window or a door. Windows or doors are architectural elements instead. I suppose that a particular window could be an architectural structure if it was erected in some place, but then it would be a whole, and certainly not a typical window. I'm likely going to reclassify windows and doors and other architectural elements if there are no good reasons put forward to not do so. Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 20:07, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
