Was there any community discussion about this? Did you have a request for WMF services from the community to provide this?

Sorry for the late reply: vacations, etc.
I'm not sure about the precise project page. IIRC, the request was from a WMDE staff who don't have the same latitude as admins to create those pages. The community can use Structured Discussions as they want since the Beta feature is on; I was just providing backup on this case.
