Your recent addition to Wikimedia list article (Q13406463) I don't think is accurate.

The item is class, not an instance. It doesn't have an exact definition or image.

I also notice that you are adding small logo or icon (P8972) to other pages that don't necessarily have an "official image".

Based on what I read from the property's proposal discussion (which you were a part of), it seems that this should only be used on official favicon-like images.

Are your edits a valid use case? Is there some documentation that I am missing? Does the current documentation need to be updated to clarify the property can be used on conceptual items that don't have an official image?

Yes, it was briefly discussed in the proposal. The idea to use it for classes was introduced by ChristianKl there. It was specifically renamed from favicon for the purpose to use it not only for “official images”. For the class pictogram use case, you might want to look into Module:ItemDisplay based on that the Template:Q! can create for example Douglas Adams (Q42).

From what I wrote in the proposal, I personally intended indeed a use for brands (e.g. using this and the Name Suggestion Index (Q62108705)), icons for administrative regions and countries in lists and logos/icons for outgoing links (e.g. social media, authority control etc.), but today I found more related to the class-based icons and have for that added some.
